Big Rainbow Alpacasso from Tokyo Otaku Mode

6/20/2016

Hello again! My beautiful alpaca FINALLY arrived and it was quite the journey but let's jump right into it and find out if it was worth it. This review is not sponsored by TOM.

If you don't know the store yet, TOKYO OTAKU MODE is an online store where you can find everything for your otaku needs. It goes from anime merch to plushies, j-fashion, stationery, etc. And if you sign up HERE you automatically get $5 to spend on the store however you want + free shipping on your first order. Now let's go to the review.
Communication: ★★★★★
I personally didn't even need to contact the store or anything. The store is very professional and they e-mail you and provide all the info you need before and after you place your order.
Shipping: ★★★★★
I placed my order on March 1st, it was a pre-order and the potential release date was MARCH so I thought "It's reasonable, right?" lol not so fast. They're allowed to change the release dates whenever they need and they don't accept refunds for pre-ordered items so at the end of March they e-mailed me saying the release date was changed to JUNE... There was nothing I could do. Fortunately, they shipped my package on June 2nd and it arrived on June 20, really fast for Brazil standards.

And here's the not so fun part.
The plushie came in a HUGE box (that I threw away asap because I was upset so sorry for the lack of pictures) with the store name written all over it, so it was a treat for the government! I'll talk about it in the Price section.
Alpacasso Rainbow Alpaca Plush (Big) - $29.99

Series: Alpacasso
Manufacturer: Amuse
Dimensions (approx.): 47 x 22 x 32 cm | 18" x 7.2" x 12.6"
Quality: ★★★★★
The plushie looked exactly like the stock images, it was really soft and the colors are really pretty. It's easy to tell it apart from the knockoffs because this one is really well-made.

Price★★★☆☆
The price of this product has been readjusted since I bought it. When I placed my order it was much cheaper, adding the gifts I got when I signed up using that link on the beginning of the post, this plushie was almost free. Unfortunately, Tokyo Otaku Mode kept the original price on the package and my plushie came in a HUGE box, stating that inside was a toy. The government in Brazil taxes ridiculous amounts for things like this, which leads people to do illegal things to get away with it, so people like me who didn't do anything wrong end up having to pay for it anyway. Even though I only paid $11 for this, I had to pay $40 in taxes. This is NOT the store's fault, but it's something to consider.

Little TOM sticker that came inside the box
Cute plastic folder that was also in the box, inside of it there was a paper with all the info about my item.
Overall: ★★★★☆
It's a lovely plushie, super soft, perfect to cuddle and the size is exactly what you paid for. I'll give it 4 stars because if you live in a place where the government taxes packages like this, then you might end up paying much more for it and I don't think it's worth it.
That's it for this review, I hope you enjoyed it! You can click here to read my previous one.
